Living the L.A. life can be quiet glamours, but it’s not so glamours when you’re prone to breaking out due to the climate changes and the pollution. My body is still adjusting to this city, and my skin has been paying for it. I’ve had to pay more attention to my skin and have added several new products to my regular skincare regime. Being from Miami, I’m not used to the weather fluctuating so much, and the pollution back home is not as severe as it is in Los Angeles. So, since I love to try new skincare products, I purchased the Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask and NEUTROGENA’s Hydro Boost Hydrating 100% Hydrogel Mask. I found using these two products every two weeks or as needed after my regular skincare routine has helped and improved the look of my skin.
After cleansing my skin with my Urban RX Even Tone Cleansing Bar (which is now available at Target), I apply a thin layer of the Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask and let it sit for 10 minutes. After a few minutes, I can feel it working and felt it removing all the toxin from my skin. The mud mask helps to clarify, balance and soothe blemish-prone skin. It’s made with natural, certified organic ingredients and I love that it has Tamarind Extract and Tea Tree Oil. Once 10 minutes have passed, I use a damp cloth to remove the mask and pat dry with a towel. I then move on to adding my hydrating mask which is the NEUTROGENA’s Hydro Boost Hydrating 100% Hydrogel Mask.
This mask felt so good and refreshing! It did what it said which was hydrating. I have combination skin, and lately, it was on the dry side, so this mask was perfect! After leaving it for 20 minutes, I felt the hydration on my skin. The only negative thing for me about this sheet mask is that I wish it were in one piece instead of two. The two pieces kept slipping off, but I finally managed to make it stay on.
Below is the result and I’m happy with how my skin has been approving. Both products have left my skin feeling fresh and glowing. Both products mentioned can be found at Target CVS, or any beauty supply store.
